Furthermore. I have been advised by the U.S. Immigration Service. that the number of greencard workers commuting to the United States on a daily basis to work in agriculture is "negligible." Mr. Speaker. when we consider the fact that the number of American workers employed in agriculture has increased by more than 23.000 over the figure of a year ago. and when we relate this figure to the very small number of greencard approvals during the last year. it is hard to escape the conclusion that Americans are willing to do farm labor and that more are doing it than ever before.
