I should like to call to the attention of the House what his associates at MooreMcCormack Lines had to say about him in their 1964 annual report: The death on February 24. 1965. of Emmet J. McCormack. cofounder. former chairman of the board and director of MooreMcCormack Lines. Inc.. marked the end of a lifetime in shipping. Mr. McCormack was born in Brooklyn. N.Y.. in 1880 of Irish immigrant parents. His boyhood days were spent in the area presently occupied by the companys piers at the foot of 23d Street. After leaving school at the early age of 14. he found gainful employment in various enterprises.
