Session #88 · 1963–65

Speech #880251281

Government that some day the wishes of the captive peoples of Europe and their governments may be one. The citizens of the State of Florida are particularly conscious of the plight of the captive nations. for one of them lies just 90 miles from our shores. Weekly. dozens of refugees arrive in our State with stories of the plight of the peoples subject to Soviet oppression. Such a situation makes Florida especially conscious of the need of U.S. support for all the captive peoples around the globe. Finally. it is fitting that this week we reflect on the duties of each American in the drive for the eventual release of these peoples who are denied the very rights for which we fought the Revolutionary War.
