I call to the attention of the Senate the death of George P. Skouras. a distinguished New Yorker who has rendered outstanding service to the New York community in respect of the development of the theater and moving picture industry. The life of Mr. Skouras represents one of those fantastic success stories we popularly call Horatio Alger stories. which clearly indicate why so many of us are deeply devoted to the immigration tradition of our country. George Skouras. with his two brothers. were the sons of a sheepherder in Greece. They came to the United States at a very young age.
