Mr. Speaker. Mrs. Serafina Ferrara. one of the most astute businesswomen and restaurateurs of the city of Chicago was signally honored by the Immigrant Service League of Chicago for her splendid efforts in behalf of the immigrants of the city of Chicago. As a young girl she managed her dads grocery with great success. Upon her marriage to Salvatore Ferrara. a popular and celebrated Italian pastry expert--she managed the bakery and pastry shop and candy factory. But regardless of her position of affluence in the community. Serafina always remembered the poor and unfortunate. She was never too busy to help in any charity drive or welfare movement.
