Session #88 · 1963–65

Speech #880107771

There appear to be two principal reasons for opposing the extension of the law. Both. when fully understood. are terribly dangerous to the working people of America. One group of opponents wants Mexican nationals to be admitted to the United States without limitation. as free men. as permanent residents and citizens. It is easy to sympathize with those who want to permit unlimited immigration of Mexican nationals into the United States. There is a great insatiable desire by Mexican nationals to come to the United States permanently. Job opportunity. wages. working conditions. living conditions are unbelievably superior in the United States.
