The bill automatically eliminates the Asia Pacific triangle and all its concomitant provisions. Thus. all nations of Asia. the Pacific. the Middle East. southern and eastern Europe. and Africa are treated according to the same standards as other nations. All complex and special arrangements to limit or render virtually nil immigration from those areas are eradicated. The enactment of this bill would be a signal contribution in obtaining a long overdue revision of our immigration laws. Although I feel that both S. 747 and S. 1932 are meritorious and deserve the most careful examination. I feel that S. 747 is preferable. for two reasons.
