S. 525. which would establish a National Advisory Council on Migratory Labor. and S. 526. which would amend the Public Health Service Act to establish a program to assist farmers in providing and constructing adequate sanitation facilities for migratory farm laborers. These measures passed the Senate on June 10 and 11. They are now before the responsible House committees. I hope. as I am sure do all concerned Americans. that these measures will at long last be enacted into law. In the last Congress we passed the Migrant Health Act which authorized Federal grants to assist State medical services for seasonal farmworkers. Two years ago. California established the Farm Workers Health Service which has done an outstanding job in this area.
