Session #88 · 1963–65

Speech #880040386

For Kazimiera was in Poland. Would she be willing to come? And. if she were. would she be able to get both an American visa and a Polish passport in order to leave Poland? These were the problems. then. for the Novosielski family early in February of this year. The first hurdle was cleared when Kazimiera willingly volunteered to come to America. The biggest problems remained. First. there was the matter of an American visa. I am sure every Senator is aware of the fact that. even under the most favorable circumstances. where eligibility for a visa is clear and there is no quota problem. the processing and issuance of a visa can take months. And. secondly. there was the matter of a Polish passport. For years.
