We pledged that we would put article 55 Into effect. The work of carrying out these aims and commitments has been mostly to specialized agencies which are far removed from the scrutiny of our Congress or our courts. Just how deeply we have become enmeshed in international efforts to regulate our domestic labor standards. minimum wage laws. immigration. etc.. is revealed to us when we carefully study and digest the pronouncements of articles 55 and 56. Under these. the Federal Government has made a commitment to regulate all education. including public and private schools. in the way the U.N. agencies tell us to do. Further. the U.N. can regulate all matters affecting civil rights and other matters which are entirely domestic.
