Thus our local patriotism. as residents of Boston. our State loyalty. and our national patriotism. are united. in the celebration of Evacuation Day. with honor to St. Patrick. symbol of the Irish ancestry and Catholic faith in which so many of us take pride. In the early colonial days. we find in history men and women of Irish blood emigrating to the various Colonies of America as early as 1636. Through the decades and generations of colonial and constitutional government. sons and daughters of Ireland have come to America. Their descendants today in our country constitute countless of millions of our citizens.
