Mr. Speaker. I wish to associate myself with the distinguished gentleman from Pennsylvania. who is chairman of the Immigration and Nationality Committee. in support of S. 3361. This bill facilitates the entry into the United States of skilled specialists and certain relatives of U.S. citizens. The Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1952 is filled with harsh regulations with no concern that the law deals with peoples lives rather than merely laws and regulations. I am personally aware of the hardships that the act has caused on a large number of naturalized American citizens in my congressional district who have found it impossible to bring into this country other members of their families. This new remedy will allow entry of approximately 25.000 persons and will aid those citizens who have relatives in Italy. Portugal. and Greece.
