The rest was a brief one. however. In October 1955. she was called to Washington to testify before the Subversive Activities Control Board. As a result of this hearing. the board examiner found that the Los Angeles Committee for Protection of Foreign Born and other regional committees of like name were closely affiliated with the American Committee for Protection of Foreign Born and. therefore. recommended that the latter be required to register with the Attorney General as a Communistfront organization. The deed was done. the task accomplished. and Mrs. Miller headed for home. proud in the knowledge that she had served her Government in the manner of a loyal and devoted citizen.
