Dorr became one of Henry Stimsons most devoted friends and has dedicated much of his life to public service. He has been special assistant to the U.S. Attorney General and the Secretary of War. the Assistant Director of Munitions during World War I. an economic adviser to the Governments of Newfoundland and Turkey. a consultant to the Secretary of State. an American delegate to the International Refugee Council in 1948. a Defense Department representative to the Council of Foreign Ministers in Paris. 1949. and an American representative to the Tripartite Conference on Migration Problems in Paris. 1950. I am privileged to call this distinguished Americans letter on Fire Island to the attention of my colleagues.
