Mr. Speaker. a noted leader of PolishAmericans in Delaware died recently. and his passing was mourned by all who knew him. Mr. Vincent J. Kowalewski was a citizen of Wilmington. Del.. for 50 years. He spent his life developing Americanism among Polish immigrants. fighting communism. heading patriotic and civic causes for PolishAmerican residents in the city. and nurturing Polish culture and folkways. As the Wilmington Morning News recently pointed out. more than 600 persons attended a testimonial given in his honor last November at the Hotel Du Pont. Mr. Kowalewski was presented with a plaque during the ceremonies which put into words the love Delawareans had for him.
