To ascertain the nature and the scope of the impact of immigration upon the economic and social conditions and the living standards in the United States. Mr. Speaker. it is not our intention at the present time to turn for advice to advocates of one or another immigration policy. We intend to listen to experts on demography. experts on population and economics. experts on natural resources. and we are sparing no effort to obtain this information from the best qualified people.
