It is characteristic of the ladies of Hadassah that they have utilized the American spirit of pioneering and combined it with our love of liberty. These are the selfsame traditions that the United States of America and the State of Israel have in common. Both were forced to fight a war in order to achieve independence. both were developed by immigrants who flocked to their shores from all parts of the world. and both have conquered the desolate land which had stood neglected for centuries. Israel. like America. also feels that it has a duty to work with less fortunate nations of the world. Within Israels technical assistance program in the newly developing AfroAsian countries.
