These publicspirited women. numbering over 300.000. whose charities have touched the hearts of unfortunates in many lands. are to be commended for their selfsacrificing efforts to alleviate the problems of a suffering humanity. During the life of this organization. hundreds of thousands of women comprising its continuing membership have contributed time and money toward the realization of its idealistic aims. Hadassah has educated thousands of refugee children and immigrants to Jerusalem from all over the world. The building of schools. hospitals. and community centers together with spiritual. moral. and health programs have instilled hope and ambition in the suffering masses. The enlightening programs of the organization on the American scene contribute to the rich philosophy of Jewish thought in the protection and promulgation of our freedoms and the defense of our democratic institutions.
