In the past the Soviet Gcvernment has cloaked its antiSemitism with the excuse of combating black marketeers and speculators. It has even implied that the Government is not responsible for such actions. Now. Mr. President. the mask is off. It is clear that the Soviet Government is directing the campaign against the Jewish religion. against the Roman Catholic religion. and. in fact. against all religion. Moreover. at the same time when the Soviets are trying to strangle Judaism in Russia. they are also refusing to permit Soviet Jews to emigrate to Israel. Mr. President. life under communism is a prison. not only for the human body. but also for the soul.
