I believe that this story should be told because it is illustrative of American opportunity and gives fine example of standards and attitudes toward ones fellow men that merit following. This is a story of great human interest. The child of an immigrant family that settled on the lower east side of New York at the turn of the century. this boy grew up in what was a laboratory of human relations. The hardship of settling in a new country would be a lesson that would not be forgotten by those who were raised under that family roof. "To befriend the stranger within thy gates" would not only be a Biblical injunctionit would be a way of life for its members. The growing up together with the families of minority groups and different cultures would definitely shape the course and provide the pattern of his future activity.
