In no period of Lithuanian history has our nation suffered such cruel and overwhelming losses as in this period of subjugation by Soviet Russia. The crimes of genocide committed against the Lithuanian nation are well known to the free world. The mass deportations which continuously decimated the Lithuanian population serve the free world as a reminder of exactly what kind of respect the Soviets have for human decency. law and order when these come into conflict with Soviet selfinterest. The Soviets continue to Russify the Lithuanian people. to falsify history. and to attempt to dehumanize the spirit of a freedomloving people. Yet the one thing that the Soviet occupants cannot enslave is the ardent desire of the Lithuanian people to be free.
