S. 1209. has been endorsed by the Day Care Council of New York. Inc.. a voluntary group that has pioneered in the improvement of day care services. and by the National Committee for the Day Care of Children. I am also a cosponsor of S. 1131. which would amend the Social Security Act to establish and operate day care centers for children of migrant agricultural workers. My bill would make available a total of $25 million a year in Federal funds for this muchneeded program of day care centersa far more realistic sum of money to meet the need. It is moreover. the kind of proposal also that incorporates Republican principles of FederalState responsibility.
