Seisaku Ota. Chief Executive of the government of the Ryukyu Islands. Tsumichiyo Asato. speaker of the legislature. officials of the University of the Ryukyus. and others. Our major interest involved the need for development of Ryukyuan economy and an easing of U.S. immigration restrictions on Ryukyuans. Of greatest interest among Ryukyuans is the effect of the socalled Price bill of the 86th Congress. The legislation as originally introduced by Congressman MELvIN PaICE of Illinois and by me in the Senate was intended to assure the Ryukyus of continuing U.S. support for the economy of the islands to permit longrange planning.
