If Mexican workers are being exploited that in itself Is a sufficient cause to try to bring about some improvement in the situation. The second point is that Mexican workers in some cases can be brought in under economically advantageous circumstances. I shall state the situation for the Senator. There are about 500.000 migrant American workers in this country who to some degree compete with Mexican nationals. This is especially true in Texas. Some 300.000 Mexican workers were brought in last year and about 122.000 of those were employed in Texas. . Perhaps not most of them. but a large percentage of what we call domestic American migrants are displaced Texans. One can imagine a displaced Texan.
