Today I have introduced a resolution for the addition to the list of illustrative public servants thus honored the name of the late Fridtjof Nansen. the centenary of whose birthday is being observed this year. It would be eminently appropriate for the U.S. Post Office to issue on this occasionhis birthday is October 10a commemorative stamp in honor of this noble son of Norway. a true explorer. a courageous statesman. and a great humanitarian. whose outstanding championship and indefatigable work for the welfare of millions of destitute people after the First World War in his capacity as the League of Nations first High Commissioner for Refugees has placed him among the immortals of his age. of our age. I have prepared a biography of Fridtjof Nansen. which I wish to have my colleagues in the House hear about. This biography follows: FRzTJoF NANSEN This year marks the centenary of the birth of a great Norwegian. a true giant among great Norsemen.
