Not that the effects of this misrepresentation have been confined to this country alone. Abroad. both the television film and the committee hearings containing the biased testimony have injured the prestige of the United States without just cause. There is no secret in the fact that there is room for improvement in migrant labor standards. in New Jersey as well as elsewhere. But it seems only elementary fairness to call attention to progress that has been made. and to allow the presentation of facts to rebut the damaging testimony of a single witness. I call the attention of the House. and of those throughout the country and the world who have been exposed to this irresponsible misrepresentation. to the true facts as succinctly summarized in an editorial published in the northern New Jersey newspaper. the Record. of
