Mr. President. by request I introduce. for appropriate reference. a bill to amend the joint resolution of July 14. 1960. enabling the United States to participate in the resettlement of certain refugees. and for other purposes. The proposed legislation has been requested by a letter from the President which was referred to the Committee on Foreign Relations. I am introducing it in order that there may be a specific bill to which Members of the Senate and the public may direct their attention and comments. I reserve my right to support or oppose this bill. as well as any suggested amendments to it. when the matter is considered by the Committee on Foreign Relations.
