Early in the spring they were first accused of antiSoviet policies. They were forced to allow the stationing of Soviet troops in Lithuania. Their little country was overrun by the Red Army. and then. on orders from the Kremlin. all Lithuanian leaders were arrested and exiled to Siberia. In 1 year. from June 1940 to June 1941. it is reported that more than 50.000 innocent and patriotic Lithuanians were imprisoned in concentration or prisonlabor camps in Asiatic Russia. Today on the anniversary observance of their deportation. we pray that most of them are still alive and will one day return to freedom. Wares 200th Anniversary
