This unfortunate situation motivated and inspired the formation of an organization to find ways and means to serve disabled and incapacitated comrades. The Polish Army Veterans Association of America. of 19 Irving Place. New York. N.Y.. has stated that of their membership of just over 4.800. most saw volunteer service in World War I. The approximate age of these veterans is now 64 years. At the moment. the association is giving aid to 220 disabled Polish veteransa few are from World War IImen who served with the British. French. and Dutch. and have subsequently emigrated to the United States and who do not get any veterans benefits from any government.
