Mr. Tom Current. has conducted exhaustive studies of the impact of the entire migrant labor programboth domestic and braceroon the farm economy of Oregon. That study contains evidence of the socalled value of the bracero program to Oregonevidence which makes me. as an Oregonian. feel that it makes little positive contribution to Oregon agriculture and no contribution to Oregons economy. For example. in the final report of the labor bureau. based on surveys made during 1958. it was determined that out of a total of 35.159 migrant agricultural workers in Oregon. exactly 199 of them were braceros. and those 199 were found in one of Oregons 36 counties.
