This newspaper recognizes the bad and the good. the debased and decadent. with the sound and vital. It has decided to stress the positive good instead of the negative which other media of communication have so blantly stressed during the past several years. To the American who was born in freedom. the hopes and aspirations of the foreign born for a new life guaranteed in his liberties. in his rights and privileges are not fully appreciated. A native son of America cannot receive the thrill which the Statue of Liberty generates in the hearts of those going through the Narrows past our Golden Gate. Many of those foreign born who came to America in their early youth have repaid this Nation for the opportunities afforded them by outstanding service to the community in all fields of endeavor. One of those is Judge S. Samuel DiFalco. who was born in Italy and was brought here by his parents when a young boy.
