Mr. President. I introduce. for appropriate reference. a bill to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act. generally referred to as the McCarranWalter Act of 1952. This law. which was enacted over a Presidential veto in the 2d session of the 84th Congress. was virtually a complete recodification and modification of our immigration. nationality. deportation. and naturalization statutes. A measure of the magnitude of the Immigration and Nationality Act is bound to require some qualifications from time to time to keep abreast of developments. both at home and abroad.
