A historian has written of the Polish Constitution: Posterity * * * joins with the best contemporary opinion in deeming the Constitution of the 3d of May one of the greatest achievements in Polish history. For this reason the Polish people have remained true to their ideals. first expressed in this Constitution no matter where they have moved in the world. Polish immigrants to this country brought with them their love of independence. Polish people helped settle our country and built its cities and towns. They have contributed to our music and our literature.
