Although other actions might be taken to alleviate the serious financial condition of our textile industry. the real solution is country by country. and category by category quotas on imports. My belief is that we should establish such quotas by country and by category. The Cabinet Committee appointed to consider this problem has been studying the matter and it is hoped that action soon will be taken to help assist the textile industry. It seems to me that the remedy which I have suggested is the course that we should follow. There should not be a delay in adopting a countrybycountry. categorybycategory quota system in the textile field. This I am sure will be of benefit to all concerned.
