This was a very obvious propaganda piece. It was slanted. distorted. untruthful. For instance. "The Harvest of Shame" indicated. and I notice the Senator indicated. that 2 to 3 million migrants. "The Harvest of Shame" tried to make it appear that there was a dollar a day wages. you said six. At least we are $6six times as well off as we were. "The Harvest of Shame" tried to make it appear that these children had little or no schooling. said theres no record of a college graduate among the migrants. It pointed out that transportation was like cattle. Now these are serious charges. It said that the housing was miserable. that these people had no chance to get out of the migrant stream. What are the facts? I think that is the thing that the American people want to know. and I realize that I come here somewhat as an underdog.
