The only genuine relief that can be given our cotton textile industries and to those unemployed souls in this field is mandatory import quotas. It is not so much the unfair import of material goods that places the United States at a disadvantage in this situation. it is the import of coolie laboryes. nearslave labor. What we are calling for. and what I am calling for is an import quota against the importation of the products of slave labor to the United States. What I am calling for is protection for the textile employees of this country.
