I address this comment to the Senator from Pennsylvania . the Senator from Minnesota . and many other Senators who are not in the Chamberfor example. the Senator from Rhode Island . They are Democrats whose sincerity. interest. and compassionate devotion to this problem are fully as great as my own. and they are facing the same hard rock of difficulty which I face tonight. My colleague from New York . when he was a Member of the other body. was one of the most ardent advocates of fair immigration legislation. As every one of us is. he was frustrated by the situation in which he found himself.
