Whether they are concerned with the implications of those trendswhether they are so concerned as to try to reverse them. are open questions. But. logically. they should be interested in vital public questions--they should be interested in the future of- their children and grandchildren and In the future of their Nation and civilization. But I would like to say to all of the people of the South and particularly our new citizens. the refugees from such septic centers of liberality as New York. Philadelphia. and Chicago. that this is still their America. that this Is still their Nation and that they still owe the debt of good citizenship. I am fully cognizant of the fact that the modern inclination is to think liberally. to compromise differences and to be tolerant.
