The distinguished chairman of the Housing Subcommittee. the Senator from Alabama . will. I believe. on Monday begin hearings on a comprehensive housing bill. There is in committee an immigration bill which we expect to consider. and perhaps revise. but I hope some effective immigration bill will be reported and acted upon. In addition. we anticipate that the other body will pass a social security bill. If we can make as much progress in the weeks to come as we have made this week. we shall have little difficulty in facing up to these issues and resolving them in the way the majority of the Senate may desire.
