Mr. President. the march of humanity toward its high destiny in this world has for centuries been impeded by the roadblocks of bias. bigotry. and distrust. It is heartening. therefore. to note the great and farreaching counteraction to such roadblocks that is represented by the spirit of World Refugee Year. This year of 1960 has been so designated. under the auspices of the three great religious faiths of the United States. and the present week of March 2027 will mark the active launching of the vast work of charity that will give life and meaning to World Refugee Year.
