Nicholas Meligakes. proprietor of the Plaza Restaurant. located on the town square in Gettysburg. Pa.. and owner of the Book Mart. a book and gift shop. situated in the same town. is the author of "The Spirit of Gettysburg." a book which is of A949 great interest to persons concerned with that portion of our Nations history. Mr. Meligakes. a young unlettered immigrant from his native Greece. settled in Gettysburg and through hard work and perseverance achieved success in the restaurant business. His industry. honesty. and integrity won him the respect of his fellow townsmen. Not being very familiar with the history of his newly adopted country.
