In total received and answered 17.800 pieces of mail. Mailed out 40.220 pieces of mail. of which 23.950 was firstclass mail. Processed cases with VA for veterans from every county in district. Handled over 600 matters dealing with Agriculture Department. Five hundred and fortyfive individuals visited the office in Washington. Received 100 newspapers per week from district. 15 per week from elsewhere. Assisted in many types of cases for constituents. such as. immigration. Coast Guard. patents and trademarks. small business. civil service. Bureau of Employees Compensation. passports. and problems of servicemen.
