We are the future leaders of the world and it is up to us to take full advantage of every opportunity coming our way to better prepare us for the work ahead. There are many of us who are born Americans and have all the rights of Americans as soon as we can use them. There are many others who are immigrants and have fought hard to become Americans. Stop to consider for a minutewhat if you had been born somewhere else? Dont you think that you would want to become an American as ouickly as possible? I am sure that I would. While some of the immigrant Americans have been content to merely stop at the slums. there are those who are striving earnestly to better themselves and their position whenever possible and many have been successful. Politics may seem very remote and far away from us right now. but it is really a very strong influence on our lives. Even though the great majority of us will never actually run for a public office.
