In recognition of the charitable activities that were conducted under his leadership during the postwar period for the reconstruction of Italy and to provide assistance for war orphans he was awarded knighthood in the Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem by the Holy See and the "Star of Solidarity" by the Republic of Italy. The caliber of the work done by Mr. Julian as U.S. attorney for the district of Massachusetts is attested to by editorial comments in leading Massachusetts newspapers.
