Speech #860135781

President. I have listened with interest and with approbation to what has been said in relation to the resolution. which provides the Congress is hereby expressing its deep realization and appreciation of the basic role labor plays in our economy and of the contributions that American working men and women have made to Americas wellbeing. May I say that I am the son of an immigrant. who worked In the woods. on the rivers. and in the mills. I remember so well the days of my boyhood. when we did not have what might be called an efficient labor union to protect the rights of honest. hardworking labor. I have personally worked in the sawmills.
