Mr. Speaker. we Americans talk much of how proud we are of our country. and how very much it means us to be citizens of this great land. But I feel that few of us really appreicate how fortunate we have been in America. Perhaps freedom is only appreciated in the fullest extent by those who have been deprived of it. Underleave to extend my remarks. I wish to include a letter written by a recently naturalized citizen who really knows what freedom means. His letter. sent to the editor of the Holyoke. Mass.. TranscriptTelegram. was placed at the head of the editorial column by that newspaper.
