The Polish Government is Communist. It is the captive of the Kremlin. It is the enemy of the Polish people and their imperishable devotion to freedom and to their Catholic faith. To forcibly deport antiCommunist refugees to Communistdominated Poland would betray their confidence in us. This is but a first step in toward appeasement of the Soviet Union and recognition of its domination over Poland and every other satellite country. The United States is being pressured and persuaded to participate in summit conferences to the dismay of those behind the Iron Curtain who look to us. and our professed ideals. as their last hope.
