We join with them in praying that they may see the eventual restoration of Lithuania to the people of Lithuania. and the end of Soviet domination in Eastern Europe. In the meantime. I urge this body to consider the liberalization of United States immigration laws to permit recent escapees from communism to emigrate here. and to keep families together. I urge both the Government and leaders in private industry to assist the intellectuals and aged exiles from Iron Curtain countries to acquire new skills for employment. I urge all Americans today to join with all people of the world who truly love freedom in sympathizing with the plight of the people who are prohibited from voicing their innate longing for liberty.
