Today there are many committees and subcommittees which investigate matters properly within their jurisdiction. That is certainly so. But they cover a very wide field. I have looked at some of the subjects they have considered. investigation of world health. investigation of foreign policies. investigation of mutual aid. investigation of juvenile delinquency. investigation of trademarks and patents. investigation of naturalization and immigration. investigation of monopoly and antitrust. I do pay tribute to the diligence of the distinguished Senator from Tennessee. If any Member of this body has ever been more diligent than he in the pursuit of that subject matter.
