The highly important dress trade and manufactory of New York could not exist without its Italian seamstresses. stitchers. cutters. tailors. designers. and workmen. Its food and restaurant industry is linked ineluctably with them. One of New Yorks greatest mayors was Fiorello La Guardia. son of an Italian musician immigrant. I cannot conceive of the Metropolitan Opera without Del Monaco. Albanese.
